Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Is Here!

It’s here.  The movie Marvel fans have been waiting for since the mid credits scene in the first Avengers movie is finally coming in May 2018.  Avengers: Infinity War marks the end of what Marvel has been working towards for the last 10 years since Nick Fury waked out of the darkness and told Tony Stark he wanted to talk to him about the Avengers Initiative.

Whether you are over the superhero boom, was never into it, or are still in love with it as I am since 2000’s X-Men, you have to appreciate Marvel’s commitment to making this cinematic universe play out like it has.  Rumors are we may be saying goodbye to some of our favorite heroes.  My guess is that won’t happen until Avengers 4 in 2019.

Reports seem to be Marvel may forgo the serialized format for more stand alone films heading out of 2019 but I wouldn’t count on that as fact.  I’m sure Marvel has plenty of surprises up their sleeve.  I’m still holding on for a Slapstick/Sleepwalker crossover.

Geek Nerdery Trailer Park – Super Bowl Edition

Apparently there was some type of sporting event last night that a lot of movie studios spent a lot of money to advertise during.  Below are some of my favorites that I watched later last night off YouTube.

John Wick 2

We see John Wick taking on the 50 Shades Of Grey franchise in their trailer.  I know which one I’ll be seeing this Valentine’s Day.

Pirates Of Caribbean

The latest trailer for this summer’s new Pirates movie.  Not a whole lot new but some cool looking action shots and of course Johnny Depp being Captain Jack.

Logan

The first of the superhero trailers I got excited about.  I’ve been excited for this movie since the first trailer.  I’m hoping it keeps it going.  This sees more of X23 doing her thing and a few shots of Caliban and some all out action.  I’m excited.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Probably my most anticipated movie of 2017.  I loved the first one so much.  This looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.  The awesome thing is that a new poster was released yesterday too and it’s pretty awesome:

A little more of Mantis and maybe the idea that Yondu officially joins the team?

Stranger Things Season 2

And of course the next season of Stranger Things which hits at Halloween time this Oct and it looks like we’re taking a GIANT jump forward as far as the level of the story.  Giant Lovecraft monsters and kids dressed up as Ghostbusters.  Heck yeah!

Nothing (and Everything) to see here.

It’s official, people: Telltale is releasing a Guardians of the Galaxy game in their standard 5 part series format. They unveiled the teaser trailer today (December 1st) at this years Game Awards.

From the official game announcement:

“The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017.”

“With story at the core of everything that Marvel creates, who better to team with than master storytellers Telltale Games,” said Jay Ong, Senior Vice President, Games & Innovation, Marvel Entertainment. “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series* fully showcases Marvel and Telltale’s rich legacy of storytelling, and fans will find themselves immersed in an original, character-driven narrative. As part of our strategy to establish a new standard for Marvel games, this is certainly among the great titles to come.”

As all teasers go, there is not a lot to look at here, but it’s more than plenty to catch our interest. Telltale has had a string of hits previously with The Walking Dead, Back to the Future, and their most recent offering, Batman (which I’ve personally found to be one of the most interesting Bruce Wayne stories in recent history). With their current run of hits, as well as the subject matter of this new game, there is no doubt that this one should be a lot of fun.

Guardians of the Galaxy: the Telltale Series is due out in 2017 on PC, gaming consoles and mobile devices.
