Someone on Reddit told me that if I stopped making politically slanted episodes that this podcast might be worth listening to. You know something, I agree, I plan that last week’s episode was the beginning and end of all that! From now on, politically neutral. Just like ska is. Politics free.
Hero Unabridged returns back to 1940. The Immortal Reader digs into More Fun Comics #54. Jim Corrigan is brought in by his ex-fiancé to investigate a spiritualist fraud. When he gets there, things turn out to be much more deadly. Will the Spectre be able to save the day?
Happy new year, and welcome to week one of our four week long Battle of the Network Stars competition. For those of you playing along at home, each week the TLH hosts are reviewing two different horror films that each star a different actor/actress from a given sit-com from the 80s and 90s. Each winner will move on to go head to head and a final four showdown where you, the listener can vote and determine who is the king or queen of the networks stars.
This week, we’re looking at…Friends. Our competitors are Jennifer Aniston (Leprechaun) and Courteney Cox (Scream). Who wins? Listen and find out.
I don’t get personal here too much, but man did I have a suck day at work. I’m over tired, over stressed, and over everything. Then I sit down and start picking out songs for this episode. It starts to melt away. Not all of it, but enough to keep me pushing towards the weekend. Hope this episode can help you in the same regards.
The thing about being a total geek about ska is, is that you love it all. You may start out loving ska/punk, or a more traditional ska sound, but soon enough, if you hold on to the open mind that got you into ska in the first place, you find all kinds of musical ska treasures. Ska is just a beat that can worm its way into any genre of music and a lot can be done with it. This episode of 23min of Ska is a celebration of that malleability.
Welcome to Hero Unabridged, a podcast dedicated to creating an issue by issue history of our favorite comic book characters. In this first episode we discover the secret origin of Murf and Hero Unabridged. We take a brief look into the pages of More Fun Comics #51 and establish the mission of the show. Available soon on iTunes and Stitcher!
Look who’s bringing the ska/punk for the holidays! I’ve been putting out this show for a few years, but I never make the Christmas episode a Christmas episode. Too cliche. Also, I avoid ska puns for the same reason. I hope this episode is a nice respite from all the audio treacle we’ve all been having to endure lately.
This week, on a very special episode of The Last Horrorcast, we discuss a couple of films that were supposed to be fun filled 70s slashers, but instead the conversation takes a much, much darker turn. Tune in for what may be our most serious and thoughtful discussion to date.
Then in the sidebar, we lighten things up a bit by discussing a few recent watches, talk about Christmas films, celebrities and conventions, and much more.

Woah! Lots of new ska on this episode! Heck, some of these songs JUST came out! (I mean, except that Kill Lincoln track, that one’s about 5 yrs old) The one comment I get from people when they find out I do a ska podcast, or that I’m into ska in general, is “ska is still a thing?” As much as I want to lecture them on the long history of ska I just say “Yep!” And when listening to bands such as these put out music so recently that is so good, well, ska is going to be a thing for quite awhile! We’ve got a handful of artists from the US, a few from the UK and heck, we even have one from Bulgaria! Dig that international ska, baby!

I was lucky enough to be on the Talk Without Rhythm podcast to talk about 2 Michael Mann films Thief and Collateral. Stop in and take a listen.
This week on the Talk Without RhythmPodcast I’m joined by my buddy Bryan of The Last Horrorcast and Geek Nerdery for a truly Mannly double-feature of Michael Mann movies. We’re discussing how the best laid plans of professionals and psychopaths so often go awry with 1981’s Thief and 2004’s Collateral.
Join us as we discuss a couple of cheesy 80s slashers featuring pranks gone wrong, Terror Train [spoilers from 41:22-52:11] and Slaughter High. Warning: if you were a nerd in school who was promised sex by the popular kids and they instead pulled a prank at your expense, don’t listen. We don’t want to give you any ideas.
Anyone who knows me knows I started my podcasting days on a video podcast called Horror Junk. Well November marked the 10th Anniversary of the first episode so we decided to get together and do a fun episode to mark the ocassion. So for the first time ever all three hosts of Horror Junk sit down to review a ultra low budget horror film in old Horror Junk fashion. Enjoy.
Just a Drunken Zombie begat Geek Nerdery, Horror Junk begat Drunken Zombie. I think I’m using ‘begat’ properly there in that context.
10 years ago, 2 guys in their 20’s sat down, drank too many beers and discussed horror movies in front of a camera. The movie was then shared via YouTube and as a video podcast. It was popular for it’s time and a ton of fun to make.
As part of our 10-year-anniversary, here’s our very first episode.
The audio episodes were almost lost forever, but I managed to find most of them. If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic like myself and want to hear a hybrid of Horror Junk and Drunken Zombie, check out this episode.
For the others that I managed to recover, go ahead and grab them here.
Hold on tight for another Horror Junk surprise, coming soon.
It’s time to once again make ourselves feel dirty and ashamed of society as we look at the first three episodes of Black Mirror season 3. Join us as talk about the value of social popularity, spiders with human faces, and whether video yoga makes one sexy or not.
