CW Announces This Year’s Arrowverse Crossover

One of the highlights of the Arrowverse on CW is the annual crossover.  Ever since Flash started they have made sure to do a crossover with Arrow.  When Supergirl finally made her way from CBS to CW (where the show should have been since the beginning) it made it easier to have her be part of the crossover as well even with it taking place on a different version of Earth.  This year while they are trimming down the crossover by leaving out The Legends Of Tomorrow and Black Lightening (which also takes place on it’s own separate Earth) they are using it to introduce some new characters and bring back a big guest star.

Elseworlds!  Comic fans know that label applies to stories told in sort of a What If style in the Multiverse of DC.  How this is going to apply to the story is yet to be seen.  What we do know according to The Wrap is that it will be setting up the foundation for and introducing Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose, who will be getting her own show.

Along with that we will see the return of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman and he’ll be bringing along everyone’s favorite reporter Lois Lane played by Elizabeth Tulloch of Grimm fame.

Some interesting casting comes as LaMonica Garrett has been cast as Mar Novu, The Monitor.  We all know The Monitor plays a big part in Crisis On Infinite Earths.  I’m curious if this is setting up a story for next season that will finally see all the various Earths collapsed into one reality.  It should be interesting.
