Coming soon from HBO Docs is BEWARE THE SLENDERMAN. A documentary about the crazy rise of Slenderman from a fun creepy story to a real life threat to young kids as attempted murders begin to happen in real life based on their fear of Slenderman. Looks creepy and I can’t wait to check it out. What do you think about Slenderman?
Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman (to have his own show)
After Tyler Hoechlin’s pitch perfect turn as the Man of Steel on Supergirl’s premiere episode, the internet lit up with demands that Supes return to the small screen with a show of his own. At first glance, it feels right; Hoechlin, as well as the writing team on Supergirl, did such a great job at bringing some levity back to the big, blue boy scout, that naturally, you want more. He took turns doing the day saving with Supergirl, he thanked random DEO agents for their service, and Rao save us, he actually smiled! Refreshing isn’t strong enough of a word to explain the feeling seeing Superman, the REAL Superman, back in action. (Remember when he told that bank robber, “If the bullets didn’t work, right? Why the punching?”? So great.) We get it. We really do.
But let’s not rush into this. Continue reading Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman (to have his own show)
CW Teases The First Arrowverse 4 Show Crossover
Ever since Supergirl moved over to the CW we’ve been waiting. When does she get to crossover with everyone else? Last year it was established that Supergirl takes place on a seperate Earth than the others. With it being on CBS it seemed like a good idea so that it would help keep the number of crossovers to a minimum since cross network crossovers are a bundle of red tape. Now that she is flying on the CW it was only a matter of time before the barriers between the Earths had to be broken and she brought into the fold. This event seems to be called Heroes vs. Aliens so what can we expect to see? The teaser below is just that, a teaser. Can’t wait to see what they got up their sleeve.

Kevin Smith has proof that a girl can fly.
On his last day of his directing gig on the CW’s Supergirl, Kevin Smith decided to show fans a peek behind the magic veil of television production. In the 9 1/2 minute video that he posted to his Facebook, Smith attempts to keep composure and not geek out (spoiler alert: it doesn’t work out well) as he shows us how it “takes a village” to get a Supergirl in the air.
It’s funny to watch Smith fanboy out at the process. It’s also cool to see everything that goes into getting those moments of action. As Smith says, it really is something that we as viewers take for granted because we only see the end result.
Give it a look below.
Kevin Smith directs the 11th episode of Supergirl entitled “Supergirl Lives” (assuredly more than just a coincidental reference to his attachment to the ill-fated Superman Lives) which airs later this season on Mondays at 8/7 Central on the CW.
WWE: Eric Bischoff – Sports Entertainment’s Most Controversial Figure
WWE finally updated their Beyond the Ring section on the WWE Network. There you will find a lot of their home video releases… in other words, home video release I’m not willing to buy.
Starting off the documentary with the intro I got a bad feeling because a lot of the sound bites and footage came from The Monday Night War: WWE Raw vs. WCW Nitro (2004) DVD, so I thought this was going to be a rehash but was I wrong. All new interviews with Eric Bischoff and I was surprised seeing Sonny Onoo being interviewed. But here’s the break down… Majority of the stories from Bischoff running WCW have been told before but there is a couple things that caught my eye. Like Bischoff blaming himself for not bringing up talent and elevate them to the main event level. He was mostly talking about cruiser weights like Jericho, Kidman, Guerrero, Malenko etc. Another point Bischoff made was about the PPV revenue because at the end of the day that money went to Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner and not to WCW.
Overall… I find this documentary okay, because I heard a lot these stories about Bischoff, WCW, and Monday Night War before. A lot of rehashing but it does give you a good history of 90’s wrestling and how WCW beat WWE for like 84 weeks in a row. Just watch it on the WWE Network.
Emmalina Coming To RAW
For the past three weeks I been seeing vignettes on RAW for Emmalina. Basically, the E is just repackaging Emma with a new gimmick and from the vignettes I’m seeing I have no idea what her gimmick is going to be. But I hope she returns as a heel, because her heel run before she got hurt was great. Her look was good too with black gloves, mirror sunglasses and a remixed themed. Why fix something that isn’t broken? I’m looking forward to her return.
So what do you think, is Emmalina returning with a heel her gimmick or back to babyface?
Young Justice Season 3 Announced
I’m a fan of cartoons. Throw in some super heroes and I’m a HUGE fan of cartoons. One I was a fan of was the DC cartoon Young Justice. It was fun seeing all the side kicks get their turn in the spotlight and it had a rather unconventional season structure where at the end of season 1 into season 2 it jumped ahead a few months and completely changed the dynamic of the team without any explination so that when the story unfolded for the season you got to see what these changes were all about. We were sad when it was announced that it was canceled after Season 2.
There was some lobbying by fans for Netflix to pick it up but it remained pretty silent until today. There’s no word on where it’s going to be shown but it looks like Season 3 is moving forward in production so we at least will see something. Were you a fan of the show?
Ash vs. Evil Dead 2×06 “Trapped Inside”
Oh baby, this review will contain spoilers.
I nerded out hardcore at Ash vs. Evil Dead episode 6. It had been spoiled for me that Cheryl would be making her return, so unfortunately I missed the fun of the big reveal. What I did not miss, however, was the amazing attention to detail paid by the amazing AvED writers.
First off, check above for the make up. They paid tribute to the original movie with the forehead bandage and cheek scratches, although maybe goring them out a little bit. After all, 35 years have passed so maybe they’re infected? She should try some antibiotics.
Another nice touch was the art desk in Cheryl’s room. Who could forget Cheryl’s clock masterpiece before the Book of the Dead took over her drawing hand to ruin it?
And I think “I’m gonna make like a tree and fuck you” may be the best quote from anything Evil Dead related. Movies and series combined.
Generally speaking though, I think this episode really encompassed the general feeling and tone I’ve loved from the Evil Dead movie series and continued into the TV series. Throwbacks and references to the original, bizarre and sometimes hacked together continuity, fun and silliness combined with “true” horror.
Cheryl was the original deadite and I, for one, was thrilled to see that same deadite reprise her role. Will we see more from other lost souls from the movie series? I’d love to see Scotty or the original Linda. How about Annie or Bobby Joe? Those may not have the same impact as Ash’s sister, but we fans would love to see them.
I was a bit worried that the TV series would not live up to the original movie series I’ve loved so much, but these last few episodes have put all those remaining worries to rest.
Lego Batman Needs a Friend in Trailer #4
Somewhere almost dead center between the camp of the neon Schumacher Bat and the angry, ultra-violent Snyder Bat, the Lego Batman sits quietly in wait…trying to get his BatTV to work.
Today, Warner Bros dropped trailer #4 for the solo Lego Batman movie out next year. After his scene-stealing cameo in 2014’s Lego movie, the Bat is back and he’s flying solo. He’s saving the day and earning the adulation of millions of fans, but still there seems to be something missing in his life. At the insistence of Alfred, Batman reluctantly learns to take responsibility of the young boy he’s adopted, and along the way, builds a team of heroes to help him on his life’s mission.
The Lego Batman movie hits theaters in February 2017 and features the voice talents of Will Arnett, Ralph Fiennes, Rosario Dawson, Zach Galifianakis and Michael Cera.
Ted DiBiase Jr. Returning For Indie Promotion
Former WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase Jr. is coming out of retirement for a match at Pro Wrestling EGO’s “The Last Call” event on Saturday, December 3rd in Pearl, Mississippi. The event will be a law enforcement fundraiser to benefit Rankin and Hinds County Honor Guard teams. Full details on the event are at this link. It appears DiBiase last wrestled in December 2013 for the FWE promotion.

Side Note: Personally, I want DiBiase Jr. to return to the ring. He was good, I know the E booked him wrong. Just give him the Million Dollar Man gimmick and let him do his own thing.
Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events Gets A Trailer
Before now we’ve only gotten a quick peek of Patrick Warburton’s Lemony Snicket giving us a tour of the set of the new Netflix adaptation of A Series Of Unfortunate Events. Now we’ve got a full trailer of not only the kids but of Neil Patrick Harris in his full Count Olaf make up. I think it’s perfect casting as he seems like he’ll fully embrace every scene chewing moment.
These books were adapted before for the big screen but never had a follow up. Doing it as a Netflix series seems like the perfect way to adapt a book series like this. Check out the trailer below.
New Wonder Woman Trailer Brings The Bling
We have been treated to the second Wonder Woman trailer and we get to see more of the island of Themyscira, more World War I action, and lots of bullets bouncing off of wristbands.
I’ve been vocal about my disappointment with Batman V. Superman but have said that anytime Diana was in her gear throwing down it was pretty awesome. Can’t wait to see what is in store for Wonder Woman’s first theatrical outing in her own film. What about you? Check out the new trailer below.

Evil Dead in Videogame
So it looks like Ash will be a character in a new Family Guy mobile game (source). But this is hardly the first time we’ve seen Ash starring in a video game.
It all started in 1984 if you can believe that. This was in a time before most major consoles, so the game was instead played on Commodore 64. I don’t recommend playing it as it will forever taint your opinion of Evil Dead, but you can at least watch this guy play it.
Ash took some time off after that and didn’t reappear officially until 2000 with Evil Dead: Hail to the King for PlayStation.
Many games use Ash as inspiration for the characters, notably Doom, but it’s good to see the real Ash back in the game.
Jamie Lee Curtis Comes Face To Face With Michael Myers For Halloween
This years Halloween may be behind us now and while some may be gearing up for Christmas and giving Thanksgiving a pass, that doesn’t mean the spooktacular season has to come to a close.
Horror icon Jamie Lee Curtis is busy with the second season of Fox’s Scream Queens. However, during directing an episode of the show, she took a few minutes to pose with some of her crew who felt it necessary to pay tribute to her Laurie Strode character from the legendary Halloween franchise.
Over at her official twitter, Curtis posted the following…
My crew suits up & shows up on Halloween. I have my director’s megaphone & whip & sensible shoes
@merrelloutside@ScreamQueens#screamqueens
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why we love us some Jamie Lee Curtis (Activia commercials forgiven).

TNA Loses UK TV Deal, Blames Spoilers
Challenge TV in the UK announced this morning that they will no longer be carrying TNA programming as of January 2017. They issued the following statement…
We know that many TNA fans will be disappointed to hear this, but we wanted to let you all know that as of January 2017, Challenge will no longer be the home of TNA in the UK. TNA has been a huge and important part of Challenge’s story over the years and we will treasure some great moments like the British Bootcamp and UK tours. We have been proud to bring UK viewers coverage of TNA and have huge respect for the company and its fans. TNA is packed with great talent and we know they will continue to do great things – we wish them all the best.
TNA responded by blaming spoilers in social media…
“We are proud to have had such a great relationship with Challenge, and appreciate how the channel brought Impact Wrestling to our avid viewers through the years. In today’s world, spoilers are inevitable. We’ve heard from the amazing fans in the UK and know you do not want to wait 3-5 days to watch the program after it airs in the US.
Our goal is to broadcast Impact Wrestling in the UK as close to the US premiere as possible. We look forward to announcing that opportunity soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, we hope you continue to watch Impact Wrestling on Challenge, Sunday nights at 9pm, as well as Xplosion and pay-per-views and follow us on social media. Thank you.”

Cat vs. Evil Dead
I’m not as big a fan of cats as others on this blog, but I love the dedication here.
Hail to the Cat, baby.
New Apple MacBooks and more.
It came as a surprise to no one (who was paying attention) that Apple showed off new MacBook Pros with a fancy new touch bar at the top that will give contextual buttons on features you can use depending on what program you’re currently accessing. To do this, Apple had to eliminate the current function row. Time will tell if this was a smart move or not based on your current function row needs and, of course, how effective the new touch bar is.
The addition of touch ID and finger-unlocking is very appealing, because the current implementation of “unlock with Apple Watch” is sometimes not quite as seamless as promised.
The only question I have is if a new Apple Keyboard will be released with the touch bar that can work with older MacBook Pros. I’d be on that in a heartbeat.
The new MacBook Pros also leave behind old USB connectors and instead opt for USB3 and Thunderbolt only. While I think this is a move that needed to come around eventually, I also think it may be a little early. But I guess someone needs to be the driving force to leave behind old tech and move on to the next big thing.
In addition to the new MacBook Pros, Apple also released an update to Apple TV which makes browsing shows and discovering new ones faster, easier, and more seamless. The new search functionality will allow shows and movies to be launched from a single search screen rather than having to navigate the interfaces of several different apps to find content.
